As a young wife and mother, in the 60's and 70's, I often
fantasized about being off in a community somewhere, living
among people who loved and supported one another, where you
never felt lost or alone. I imagined organic gardens, and
"free" schools where children could explore their
interests and be lovingly guided to fulfill their potential,
without comparisons or competition. I daydreamed about group
gatherings for meditation, celebration, and honoring the Earth.
I envisioned a world of self-responsible and empowered individuals
living joyfully, creatively, abundantly. A beautiful fantasy.
Through all these years, that vision has stayed quietly under
the surface, as I followed my own pathway of healing and growth,
and developed my practice as a Spiritual
Therapist. [For those of you who might be interested
in learning more about my own personal journey, I tell some
of that story in the introduction to my booklet,
Healing, Loving, & You.]
Now, as we move into the new millennium, I am amicably divorced
from my husband, my three children are grown and busy with
their own lives, and I am delighted to be contributing
to the fulfillment of that original vision.
When I moved to Asheville in October, 1999, (see my article,
Coming to Asheville) I sat
at the foot of the mountains and asked for guidance about
the next step for my work. The answer was clear: I was to
assist the "Lightworkers" - the teachers and healers
, to bring forth their own unique gifts and talents, so they
could do the work they came to do. And what is that work?
It is the work of healing the planet and creating the
New Paradigm, a new way of living in the earth.
My fantasy, my vision, is becoming the new reality. As we
join together, with clarity and focused intention, we bring
it more and more into manifestation. What a glorious time
to be alive!
